The brief
Nell Shukra and his team at Four Seasons Ramesh Gallery asked for a decorative piece that would sit comfortably in a contemporary interior and still be unmistakably hand-made.
The work
The piece was developed with the gallery rather than presented to it, and produced as a distinct object for their floor. The relationship has since grown into institutional work: the Ministry of Culture project for Saudi Arabia came through this same partnership.
